Can the mattress business model work for other home items?
The mattress movement is exhausting. We had Casper, then Tuft & Needle, Purple, and about 100 more fast followers with the exact same business model.
I was in a rug store yesterday, and couldn't help but draw the similarity in the traditional business - expensive, infrequent purchases, with huge markups.
So, is there opportunity to do the same with rugs and/or carpets?
Technology is pretty basic, as well as delivery methods (similar weight, size...). However, much more variety in rugs to get the right economies of scale on inventory and sales. But, that feels like a solvable problem.
